Floor cooling for optimal farrowing pen results

• Can be implemented with Tri-Bar and Tri-Cast inserts, with or without shoulder plates;
• Aluminium tube under the slat supplies flow of cool water (20 to 22 degrees Celsius);
• Low-energy/ energy saving balance in the farrowing pen: heat extracted from the sow can be used elsewhere in the house;
• Additional feed intake by a sow leads to higher milk production and higher weaning weight of piglets (0.4 kg per piglet). Veterinary treatment required for these piglets is also 3.7 % lower and the mortality rate in the piglet section is reduced by 2.4 %.
